KING T-MO IS THE SOCA MONARCH FOR 2009

On April 16th 2009, the Sky is the Limit Foundation presented the family of the late Mr.Fernando ''Cat'' Thewet with a ''Best of Cat'' Cd.

15 year old Bria Sorton, will wear the NAGICO banners when she competes in the Carnival Teen Pageant on Saturday 18th April 2009. NAGICO Insurances presented Ms. Sorton with a check on Monday 6th April 2009, supporting her bid to become the Teen Queen for 2009. In return for NAGICO’s contribution, Bria will be involved in several of NAGICO’s marketing projects throughout the year. Bria, who is a student at the St. Maarten Academy, expressed her gratitude for NAGICO’s support by stating, "Thank you very much for sponsoring me for the Carnival Teen Pageant. I am very excited that I will be able to participate. I am particularly excited that my involvement with NAGICO will continue even after the pageant ends."

A press conference was held on Wednesday April 15th 2009 at 10:30am at the St. Maarten Festival Village where we were updated on the current status of the Festival Village.

CARNIVAL SEASON SAFETY TIPS 2009

The Carnival Season is here again. This is the 40th year of our carnival Celebration in Sint Maarten. It is the time of year for cheer, happiness and joy. It is a very busy time of the year and also a time where crime becomes more frequent. Criminals love the Carnival Season, just like any other holiday and they love this season as much as everyone else, because it is a great opportunity to do what they do so well and that is to commit crime.

The Police Force of Sint Maarten is without any doubt doing its utmost, to protect you, your family and your property, in combating these criminals. The Public Relation Office of the Sint Maarten Police Force is therefore offering the entire community, the following safety tips, to help them prepare and make their Carnival Season a much safer and joyous one.
